Career training programs currently offered at NADC College:
With this program, you’ll acquire the same strong foundation as a technician, but in addition, you can strengthen your academic skills. Not only will you be able to service cars from a technical perspective, you can have the essential communication, people, and business skills it takes to be a manager or even own your own business. NADC's technical training combined with additional courses such as General Mathematics, English Composition, Fundamentals of Speech, General Psychology, American Government, and Economics can provide you with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive and Diesel Technology.
You'll be able to repair dents and other structural damages using your welding, cutting and painting skills. Just as important, you'll learn to fix other common accident related issues such as frame, suspension, alignment, brakes and electrical problems. Collision repair is a skill you master with experience – that's why you'll be working with cutaway cars and body parts, designed to simulate situations described in your textbook. Many of your classes will take place in a body shop/lab environment where you'll work with the same tools and techniques you'll use once you graduate. A High Performance add-on option is available with a focus on either engines or fabrication.
Starting with the fundamentals, you'll learn and develop your skills so you're comfortable working on equipment ranging from a big 18-wheeler to a front-wheel drive vehicle - and capable of steering your career in the direction of greater opportunity. Besides your classroom work, you'll roll up your sleeves and spend class time in repair bay "laboratories" working on today’s car and diesel engines, disassembling and reassembling them as required. You'll be gaining hands-on experience with the tools and techniques you'll use once you graduate. From braking, hydraulics and fuel systems to computer diagnostics and sensors, you'll have a wide range of skills in both Automotive and Diesel Technology.
High Performance technicians must have the knowledge and skills that are necessary to modify, sport-tune and dyno-test their vehicles. Did you know that some of today’s vehicles could be modified to output 4X their original horsepower? Suspension and exhaust systems go hand in hand with engine performance, which means that an automotive technician must be able to handle all of the different aspects of high performance modification. A number of our Automotive programs offer a High Performance add-on that can help prepare you to handle: Engine building, High Performance cylinder heads & valve trains, HP engine blocks & related parts, HP drive line systems and Performance steering, suspension & brakes. Programs vary by campus - check with your Admissions Representative for exact program offerings and availability.
